In 2015, Babolat introduced an improved “Spin Machine”, engineered to help players dominate from the first point to match point.
For more than 10 years Babolat has been the pioneer of spin, leading the industry in developing tennis equipment dedicated to helping players maximize spin. In 2003, Babolat introduced the first aerodynamic racket designed for topspin.
Adopted by Rafael Nadal in 2005, the storied Aeropro Drive has been the choice of many champions including Genie Bouchard and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Babolat followed this spin racket line with the first string optimized for spin, RPM Blast.
In 2015, Babolat ushered in a new era of spin with the introduction of the Babolat Pure Aero racket. A result of extensive Babolat R&D testing, the technological updates to the Pure Aero frame allows for more spin production than previous Aero iterations.
Demands of the modern game require players to be more aggressive; find sharper angles, and hit more powerful shots, all while keeping the ball in play. Babolat’s Pure Aero provides the innovation that allows players to take advantage of spin to gain an edge over their opponents.
The Pure Aero brings significant enhancements to the previous generation of Aero rackets. The name – Pure Aero – along with new design and technologies reflects a total renewal of Babolat’s global best-selling racket.
Dedicated to racket sports, Babolat works closely with players to understand the evolution of the game and develop products that meet their needs. In developing the Pure Aero range, Babolat dissected player strokes and movements needed for optimal topspin, identifying two key moments: preparation and ball impact.
Step 1:Preparation – Speed of the Racket The faster the racket moves through the air, the more topspin a player can generate.
Step 2:Ball Impact – Movement of Strings Mains on the string pattern give movement to the ball. The more they are able to move, the more topspin a player can generate on the ball.
To maximize spin during these steps, the Pure Aero incorporates two technologies: Aeromodular2 and FSI Spin.
Aeromodular2 (patent pending) technology improves aerodynamics for faster racket speed (according to internal tests). To create more speed through the air, the frame is optimized and wind resistance is decreased thanks to the integration of the Woofer system and Cortex inside the frame.
To improve the movement of string, the Pure Aero features FSI Spintechnology with a redefined sweet spot, oblong grommets at 6 and 12 o’clock and a more open string pattern for increased strings movement.
Players looking for power and topspin will appreciate the combination of Aeromodular2 and FSI Spin technology, which allow for maximum spin production.
The Babolat Pure Aero has the same weight and balance as the previous Babolat Aeropro Drive. The racket comes in connected and non-connected versions, and includes additional models to meet the needs of a wide range of players.
The Pure Aero is easily recognized by its “Aero yellow” and black color palette representing creativity and power in a sleek, pure design.
Babolat Pure Aero PLAY, a connected tennis experience.
The flagship model of the Pure Aero line is the Babolat Pure Aero PLAY, which offers the same weight and balance as the previous Babolat Aeropro Drive PLAY.
The Pure Aero PLAY furthers Babolat’s commitment to connected products, continuing the brand’s tradition of innovation and pioneering the future of tennis.
Babolat developed the Babolat Pure Aero PLAY connected racket to allow every player to enjoy a unique experience based on progression, fun and sharing.
Competition helps drive and motivate players. Before connected tennis, the way to compare to other players was to play against them. Now with Babolat Pure Aero PLAY, players can compare and compete against others (friends, competitors and top professionals like Rafael Nadal). Babolat is the first and only brand to make a top player’s data available to allow tennis fans to see how they measure up against the pros, creating an exciting new form of competition.
Sensors integrated into the handle of the Babolat Pure Aero PLAY racket allow players to have access to information about their game.
Collected data includes shot power, ball impact location, number of strokes (forehand, backhand, serve, smash), spin, total and effective play time, endurance, technique, consistency, energy and rallies.
The BabolatPure Aero PLAY is for all tennis players, regardless of level.
