As the official partner of Wimbledon, Babolat celebrates 150 years of youth, boldness, and passion with its new collection

A WIMBLEDON partner since 2013 (racquets, strings, bags, accessories) and official racquet service provider since 2022, Babolat presents its 2025 collection—an elegant and modern lineup including 6 racquets, 4 shoe models, and 3 bags. This Grand Slam is also an opportunity for Babolat to support its team of professional players competing on London’s grass courts, including two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz. During the tournament, BABOLAT will also officially launch in the UK its 150th anniversary book, « The Perfect Match », featuring forewords by Rafa Nadal and Björn Borg.

A pioneering brand aligned with a legendary tournament.

The shared history between Babolat and Wimbledon traces back to the very roots of the game. In 1875, Babolat invented the very first tennis string—just two years before the inaugural edition of the world’s oldest tournament. The partnership deepened in 2013, when Babolat became Wimbledon’s official supplier of racquets, strings, footwear, bags, and accessories, eventually becoming the tournament’s official racquet stringing service in 2022. Each year, nearly 6,000 racquets are strung across three sites (Aorangi, Roehampton, and Raynes Park) by an international team of Babolat stringers, working with precision and care for players across all events—including wheelchair tennis, in strict accordance with each champion’s preferences.

This unique partnership—rooted in both innovation and heritage, is the result of a collaboration between two forward-thinking brands that continue to grow the game of tennis together. The symbolism is even more powerful this year as Babolat celebrates its 150th anniversary. A meaningful moment for Eric Babolat, Group President: “Babolat and Wimbledon are nearly the same age and still driven by the same spirit of youth, passion, and innovation. It’s always an honor for the brand to be a partner of this unique tournament that radiates tennis history.”

150 years of emotion, prestige, and excellence.

150 years of success built on strings, gut or synthetic, that have helped countless tennis icons triumph on courts around the world (Lacoste, Borotra, Cochet, Brugnon, Lenglen, Borg, Navratilova, Becker, Noah…). In 1994, Babolat took a major leap by launching its first racquet, the Pure Drive, a powerful and versatile frame that revolutionized the game for amateurs and professionals alike. Since then, Babolat’s racquet range has grown (Pure Aero, Pure Strike), and the 100% Babolat racquet-and-string combination has become a global benchmark. In just over three decades, Babolat has captured 41 singles Grand Slam titles, cementing its global leadership. Carlos Moyà opened the way in 1998 at Roland-Garros, and Rafael Nadal carried the torch with brilliance—22 Grand Slam titles, including 14 at Roland-Garros.

Carlos Alcaraz has also made a huge contribution to the brand’s prestige. The Spaniard has been under contract with Babolat since the age of 10 and recently extended through 2030. A two-time defending Wimbledon champion and the youngest world No.1 in 2022 after winning the US Open, Alcaraz stunned the tennis world once again by defending his Roland-Garros title in a spectacular final. He now aims for a Wimbledon three-peat and a sixth Grand Slam title—at just 22 years old.

All these moments of glory, and many more, are captured in The Perfect Match, a new book by Charlotte Gabas (published by De La Martinière), launching in the UK during Wimbledon. This 244-page gem traces the Babolat family saga and features a foreword by Rafael Nadal: "From a very young age, I’ve had a very special relationship with Babolat. I remember my first Soft Drive, then the Pure Drive, and the first time I saw the Aero Pro—the racquet I’ve used most throughout my career."

This Wimbledon fortnight also marks the launch of Babolat’s latest collection dedicated to the tournament. Six racquets, including three junior models, are featured, including the Babolat Pure Drive Wimbledon, which sports a darker cosmetic this year, blending prestige and elegance. Four shoes—designed in collaboration with Michelin and respecting Wimbledon’s traditional white, along with three bags, complete the Babolat offering for this 148th edition of Wimbledon.
