Following the launch of the new Babolat Pure Aero in August 2022, the ultimate spin family announces the addition of the PURE AERO 98 to the range offering players the perfect combination of spin and precision.

This new model has been designed for players who hit the ball early on the rise. Used on tour by Carlos Alcaraz, Holger Rune and Felix Auger-Aliassime, the PURE AERO 98 racquet is the heaviest in the range at 305 grams (10.8 oz.). As the name implies, its head size is 98 in2 (630 cm²), which provides more precision than the standard 100 in2 (645 cm²) head size. While the string pattern of the other Pure Aero racquets in the range is 16 x 19 (16 main, 19 cross), the PURE AERO 98 racquet features a tighter string pattern (16 x 20), offering a little more control while maintaining excellent spin.

The PURE AERO 98’s technology and string pattern are designed for players hitting the ball hard and wanting exceptional feel at impact. The addition of flax fibers in the frame of the racquet offers optimum vibration dampening, allowing for an extreme feel, while the aerodynamic frame increases the speed of the racquet head to generate more spin.

The PURE AERO 98 racquet can be purchased in singles or as matched pairs. The two matched tennis racquets have a maximum weight difference of 1 gram, well below the industry standard, to meet players’ precision needs.
