Carlos Alcaraz wins his 2nd grand slam title at only 20 years old.

This Sunday, July 16th, 2023, Carlos Alcaraz electrified the tennis world during the Wimbledon final in London. The Spaniard, who just turned 20 in May and only had a dozen or so grass-court matches under his belt, clinched his thirteenth title at Wimbledon three weeks after lifting the Queen's Club trophy, his first ever title on a grass court. "Carlitos" has now won two Grand Slam titles, adding to his victory at the 2022 US Open. Carlos Alcaraz has been collaborating with Babolat for 10 years, playing with the Pure Aero 98 racquet fitted with Babolat RPM Blast strings.

"Carlos Alcaraz perfectly embodies the spirit of the Babolat family. His talent, passion, and determination reflect the fundamental values we have upheld since 1875. We're delighted to support such a promising young player, and we congratulate him on this new title, which will undoubtedly be followed by many more. Our Babolat teams around the world are extremely proud of Carlos, and we can't wait to see him push the boundaries of the sport even further and write new pages in the history of the game," declared Eric Babolat, President of Babolat, after the Spanish prodigy's victory.

Babolat discovered Carlos Alcaraz in 2013 during the "Babolat Cup," a junior competition with several tournaments held across Europe, where Carlos made quite an impression at just 10 years of age. That same year, the young Spaniard signed his first contract with Babolat. 10 years and lots of hard work later, Carlos is the youngest ever world number 1 and a two-time Grand Slam winner. At 20, the native of El Palmar already has all the makings of a champion.

Carlos Alcaraz breathes new life into professional tennis. Thanks to his contagious smile, his positive personality, and his bold and aggressive game, the world number 1 has already won over a wide audience. "Carlitos" is the embodiment of a new era, of a renaissance in international tennis.

For several years, Babolat has decided to focus on young players, exemplified by world number 1 Carlos Alcaraz – spearhead of Generation A. This decision is now bearing fruit, as demonstrated by the outstanding results of the young members of the Babolat team: Holger Rune (20), Félix Auger-Aliassime (22), Leylah Fernandez (20), Niels Vink (20), Arthur Fils (18), and the next generation of players such as Dino Prizmic (17), Henry Searle (17) and Alina Korneeva (16), who have already won Grand Slam junior titles in 2023. These young talents shine on the court and represent the future of the game. Babolat, which played a major role in the creation of tennis nearly 150 years ago by inventing the first strings in the sport's history, has been able to capitalize on its expertise by expanding its field of activity to the area of high-quality racquets. Today, these racquets are among the favorites of the world's best players, and destined to become the choice of future number 1s.
