Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, a love for tennis

On May 24, 2022, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga retired from professional tennis at the French Open. Since then, "Jo" has not been a stranger to the courts. A veritable jack of all trades, the Frenchman recently donned the hat of a businessman to pursue the next chapter in his life: the development of the ALL IN Group and its Country Club in Lyon, Babolat's official partner for racquets, balls, strings, and bags.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga lives and breathes tennis. At 37, the former world number 5 keeps coming back for more. Teaming up with his former coach Thierry Ascione, Jo embarked on a new adventure in 2019: the development of the ALL IN Group. These past few months, the famous French player has been giving his "all" to develop the ALL IN Country Club in the Décines district of Lyon.

An ambitious project. But Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has never been short on ambition, and has always tackled seemingly impossible challenges head-on. "We're extremely happy and proud with the work we've done on this country club. I never would have imagined that one day I'd be able to complete such a massive project. I remember all the hours we spent on our computers – on video calls during the pandemic – developing and fine-tuning this project. It was a colossal job, which makes its success all the sweeter."

Jo's business partner Thierry Ascione, Co-Founder of the ALL IN Group, is delighted to still be working alongside his former player. "First and foremost, Jo is a friend. He was always really discreet when it came to this project, especially when he was still on the tour. We're so lucky to have a former champion who is willing to put his all into this project. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, the former crown jewel of the French Tennis Federation, enjoyed a sparkling tennis career. The Frenchman first started to make an impression on the professional tour in 2008, at the age of 22. That year, Jo rocked the tennis world by upsetting Rafael Nadal in the semifinals of the Australian Open (6-2, 6-3, 6-2), pulling off one of the biggest wins of his career and reaching his first and only Grand Slam final. He went on to lose the final in 4 sets to the tournament's number 3 seed, Novak Djokovic, whom he would beat a few months later in Bangkok to win his first ATP International Series event.

Throughout his career, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga remained faithful to Babolat racquets (Aero Pure Drive, then Pure Aero from the 2017 French Open onwards), electrifying tennis courts around the world. A true maestro, he won two Masters 1000 titles, triumphing in Paris in 2008 and Toronto in 2014. He reached the final of the London Masters in 2011, and the doubles final of the 2012 Olympic Games. Tsonga also shone as a team player, winning the Davis Cup with France in 2017. In total, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga won 18 singles titles, testifying to his talent and determination both on and off the court.
