Charlotte & Kyle, Babolat Cup winners

The Babolat Cup, hosted at Edgbaston Priory since 2014, is a unique tournament that brings together county champions and runner’s up from respective Babolat sponsored counties. With interactive activities and a player’s party with special guests from Rafa’s Academy, the two-day event is a fantastic experience for all involved. The 32 boys and girls compete for a once in a lifetime chance to be flown out to Rafa Nadal’s Academy in Mallorca for a weeklong coaching program as well as being offered a sponsorship deal with Babolat! 

The 2021 winners were Leicestershire’s very own Charlotte Pollard and Buckinghamshire’s Kyle Babbage who both played some outstanding tennis to take home the trophy! With aspirations of wanting to compete at the highest level, Kyle and Charlotte would want to follow in the footsteps of some previous winners who have gone on to compete in Junior Grand Slams.

Upon arrival to the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar in Mallorca, Spain, Kyle and Charlotte were greeted with big smiles, sunny weather and lots of exciting tennis opportunities. It was a chance to make some new tennis friends, learn some new skills and practice/compete with liked minded players. Congratulations to Charlotte and Kyle, we can’t wait to see more of the next chapters in your tennis stories.
