After putting in some solid performances during the last two Grand Slams (Wimbledon and the US Open), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has clinched his first title since November 2009 and also his first in Babolat colours. Jo kept his cool to beat Ivan Ljubicic 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 in the final of the Metz tournament in France (ATP 250 Series). This victory has moved Jo three places up in the rankings, making him World No. 7.
He has also reclaimed the title of French No. 1 with this win, moving ahead of Gaël Monfils, and he can now set his sights on qualifying for the Masters at the end of the season.
