Kim Clijsters wins Cincinnati title

Less than two weeks before the US Open, Belgian Kim Clijsters finalised her preparation by winning the Premier Events tournament in Cincinnati on Sunday 15th August.
After knocking out Italian Flavia Pennatta in the quarter finals and Ana Ivanovic in the semi, Kim used her Babolat Pure Drive to take her third crown of the season, beating Russian Maria Sharapova 2-6, 7-6, 6-2 in 2 hours and 27 minutes.
This was quite a performance from Kim, as she battled back from three championship points before the match was interrupted due to storms.
On Monday, Kim Clijsters moved up three places in the WTA rankings and is once again in the World top five. Dane Caroline Wozniacki moved up one place and is currently world No. 2.
Some good results before the last Grand Slam tournament of the season!
